Keeping Your Energy Up All Week

by | Mar 5, 2024 | Health, Self-Improvement

Have you ever noticed that your energy deteriorates as the week goes on? Getting out of bed at 6:30 a.m. on Monday turns into 6:45 on Tuesday, 7:00 on Wednesday, and so on. Not even the strongest cup of coffee in the world is a match for how drained you’re feeling by the time Friday rolls around. If this sounds like you, keep reading.

Keeping your energy up during the week is no easy task. Between meetings, kids, appointments, cooking, cleaning, deadlines, and trying to squeeze in 30 seconds for yourself, it’s hard to keep hopping out of bed each day with enthusiasm. However, there are a few things you can do to put some pep in your step and keep your energy up from Monday through Friday. Here are our tips!

Focus on nutrition.

It’s no secret that humans need to eat to survive, but when life gets busy, it’s easy to move food to the bottom of the priority list. Food is fuel—it’s not just a figure of speech, it’s true! Going the entire day without eating simply because you have too much going on is the #1 way to feel absolutely drained by 5:00 p.m. (or 9:30 a.m.).

There are certain foods that can give you a better boost than others, like bananas, sweet potatoes, or brown rice. And remember, even though water isn’t technically a food, it’s just as important to stay hydrated throughout the day for sustained energy!

Lastly, we can’t forget about protein. Not only does “no protein = no energy,” there are so many other health benefits to having enough protein in your diet.

Do yoga.

Yoga comes with tons of benefits, and naturally boosting energy is one of them! Poses that stimulate blood flow—particularly ones that stretch your spine—have been shown to combat fatigue and increase feelings of vitality. Yoga is also a versatile workout that can be done in a class setting or from the comfort of your own home! Try out this guided 20-minute class if you’re just getting started.

Diffuse essential oils.

Essential oils are used for so many different purposes—from helping you sleep at night to helping with a headache. But did you know they can also be used to revitalize you? It’s true! Here are a few to add to your diffuser for those days when you need a little pick-me-up:

Get more sleep.

We can’t talk about energy with talking about sleep! Sleep is fundamental to sustaining energy levels and overall well-being. It serves as the body’s essential reset button, allowing it to repair, rejuvenate, and consolidate memories. Try to get 7-9 hours of sleep to help you stay alert during the day.
